We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and seasoned Senior Network Architect with extensive experience in developing and delivering modern network solutions in complex environments. This role plays a pivotal role in driving the Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) mission and revolutionizing the cybersecurity landscape.

what you will do…

  • Architect and Design Solutions: Develop and implement high-level designs for complex network infrastructures, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability across the enterprise.
  • Advanced Network Security: Design and enforce network security protocols, implementing cutting-edge solutions to protect against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Integration and Implementation: Ensure the seamless integration of network hardware and software technologies.
  • Vulnerability/Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks associated with network infrastructure, developing and implementing strategies to ensure seamless operations and disaster recovery.
  • Solve Complex Problems: Address highly complex problems utilizing expertise and advanced troubleshooting, leveraging cross-functional team resources.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise across diverse project assignments, offering specialized guidance and input for strategic decision-making.

what you will bring…

  • An active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Meade, MD at least 3 days/week.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in network and systems engineering, with a focus on security.
  • Experience with Kafka/Confluent, Kubernetes operators.
  • Experience creating data partitioning strategies and monitoring topics for performance.
  • Experience deploying and upgrading Kafka clusters in high availability containerized environments.
  • Experience utilizing observability platforms (Elastic, Datadog, etc) to configure monitoring for data pipelines to ensure high availability and throughput, low latency, and alerting
  • Knowledge of stream processing pipelines and analytics.
  • Experience with Apache NiFi, multi-cluster or containerized environment experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, boundary defense, auditing, authentication, and supply chain risk management.
  • Experience writing playbooks and scripts for automation tools including Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code (CaC).
  • Python or Bash scripting experience. 
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Compliance Certification required (such as Sec+, CCNA, SSCP, GSEC, etc.)

Stand out with...   

  • DoD 8570 IAT III Compliance Certification
  • Experience documenting and providing information for security accreditation and certification. 
  • Experience using Splunk tools in infrastructure planning, data collection and comprehension, development, integration, configuring data inputs and forwarders, data management, and/or monitoring. (Already Splunk Certified a major plus)
  • Experience with Network Security Technologies such as Multiple Domain, PKI, SSP, and/or Vulnerability Assessment.       
  • Experience with High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) devices for in-line Network Encryption. 
  • Experience with Puppet, Docker/Rancher, SALT.
  • Comprehensive knowledge across key network security tasks and high-impact assignments.
  • Proven ability to work on complex problems and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Experience leading and managing technology projects.
  • Strong mentorship and leadership skills.
