August Schell is seeking a candidate for an exciting opportunity to use their Splunk talents and experience in our Splunk Cleared Engineer role.  This candidate will ensure the smooth deployment of their enterprise technologies to customers. The ideal candidate for this role has sharp Splunk knowledge and keen problem-solving skills who can quickly analyze, identify and resolve complicated issues, as well as bring to light other solutions not previously considered. August Schell Splunk engineers are self-motivated, have an insatiable thirst to learn new technologies, thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive for customer success. This position will be a combination of work in the DMV area and provide the opportunity to travel in the United States. 

What you will do... 

  • Drive complex deployments of Splunk while working side-by-side with our customers.
  • Solve unique challenges across a variety of use cases. 
  • Collaborate across customer organizations to identify limiting parameters and determine the best way to overcome environmental challenges. 
  • Leverage your experience and share best practices to develop innovative solutions for maximum user adoption, product value, and customer satisfaction.

What you will bring...

  • Active Secret Security Clearance or higher required.
  • A Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect Certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in technical consulting. 
  • Experience in both Unix and Windows operating systems; comfortable on the command line interface.
  • Demonstrable understanding of common enterprise applications (especially in the areas of security and finance).
  • Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems and apply to customers use cases. 
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with technical and non-technical professionals of all levels; from IT administrators to executive stakeholders. 
  • Be self-motivated and self-educating; as well as able to work well on a team.
  • High level of organization with a healthy sense of urgency, ability to prioritize, communicate clearly and effectively, and meet aggressive deadlines with competing priorities. 
  • Excellent Troubleshooting Skills. Ability to successfully resolve issues in a timely and systematical method. 

Stand out with...

  • Strong knowledge/experience with Linux (RedHat, CentOS), Windows Server (2008R2 and greater), Shell Scripting (Bash, PowerShell), and Splunk Enterprise.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance or other relevant field.
